Metal Detector Digging Tools

Nobody can tell you what is the right tool to dig for you. it's about the perfect tool for jobs and land, and personal preferences. I am certainly no expert, but I have some helpful tips when it comes to digging the city park. I broke my digging tool first. It was mainly a question of being very cheap. It was also a poor technique. After I watched the pros do it on youtube for a while I thought about it. In addition to becoming something strong, you do not use the handle for leverage. You want to take the shovel as you are now the top of the spoon. So if you have no prying, your hand is gripping the top of the spoon and handle. This is also how you get the most of your body weight to the tool all, instead of all your weight on the end of the handle while prying. This will give you more power to your cup down. This is the concept behind the ever famous "Digger Lesche" digging tool.

Gold testing kits

HOW DO THESE QUALITY GOLD TESTING ACIDS AND ACCESSORIES WORK?
The basic procedure or test is to test a small scratch the metal of the sample you are testing on the test stone. Place a few drops of the acid test on the sample and observe. If the quality of gold is equal to or greater than the quality carats valued on acid acid test will not be the effect of the sample. If the metal is not tested or gold with a purity lower than the quality rating of test acid the acid will destroy the sample. An alternative method is to make two scratches on the stone, one with the metal of the test sample and one with needle test for gold purity known. When you apply the acid you see two stripes to see how they compare.

Amateur With Metal Detector Finds Gold Hoard

Amateur With Metal Detector Finds Gold Hoard - video and article below

One of the most exhilarating experiences in life is to discover a precious object, especially when it comes to an astonishing discovery so impressive that he causes others to be jealous. The bug can get the treasure the beginning of life with one in four feet of digging in his garden and can stay with someone until old age, as he becomes a prospector panning for gold along a gray stream distance.

Most treasure hunts, of course, failure and disappointment. But some dreamers with the right combination of persistence and luck come across monumental discoveries that take a life of their own mythology and are discussed for years to come.

There is no doubt that metal detectors passionate lover of Herbert Terry falls into this category.

As reported Thursday by The Associated Press, Herbert was to explore an English farm in July when he discovered a treasure massive Anglo-Saxon gold and silver sword decorations and other military objects dating from the 7th century . The discovery of at least 1345 points, some inlaid with precious stones, is considered the largest of its kind from that time and has excited the archaeologists in Britain.

Herbert and the landowner are not identified some of the enriched product they will collect when the treasure was sold to museums. His countrymen do not share the financial benefits, but they will be culturally enriched by the planned public display of dazzling objects.

Herbert, who spent five days before the discovery of the treasure of professional archaeologists took over, told the AP: "Imagine you are at home and someone keeps putting money through your mailbox that was what it was. I was going to bed in my sleep and I could see gold objects. "

Mining regulation and education

 Ownership of mineral
The government of New Zealand has all the oil of natural origin (including oil and gas), radioactive minerals, and gold and silver in New Zealand. Any person or company wanting to prospect, explore or mine these substances must be licensed under the Minerals Act 1991 and the Crown to pay the fees and charges specified. The same rules apply to coal and all other metal ores and non-metallic aggregates and on land owned by the Crown.
Extraction of minerals and aggregates other than petroleum, radioactive minerals and gold and silver on private land requires the consent of the landowner in cooperation with the resource consents granted by local authorities under the provisions of Act resource management.

Environment and safety regulation
The Resource Management Act 1991 and its amendments is the major piece of environmental legislation which controls land use. It has a comprehensive framework for the development and protection of almost all the physical and natural. Mining is excluded from the provision of the Act on sustainability, but that mining invariably involves the use and modification of the earth, all other parties apply.
Local authorities (district and regional councils) are responsible for administering the Act on the management of resources. Most jurisdictions have incorporated the local rules and guidelines for the extraction of minerals in their district plans.
Workplace safety is covered by the Health and Safety at Work Act 1992. Special rules for mining are covered in HSE (Mining Administration) Regulations 1996.
Corporate training
Because of the skills required in the various aspects of mining and the dangers of working with explosives and heavy machinery, the qualifications have long been required to conduct many aspects of mining. In the 19th century, the government has set up a network of schools of mines that provided a practical and theoretical training. The Otago School of Mines, University of Otago, produces graduates in mining engineering. These schools were all closed.
In the 2000s the Extractive Industries Training Organisation (EXITO) offers a range of qualifications covering both underground and open pit, mineral and petrochemical processing, the use of explosives and electrical engineering.
No university education in mining or mining engineering is available in New Zealand, and those who need higher qualifications required to study abroad.

Māori and Chinese miners

Maori knew the mountain passes of South Island rivers and their journeys to collect pounamu (green). Early prospectors had Maori guides. When Maori realized that Europeans value placed on gold, some joined the rushes. In 1858 there were 600 Maori men work the fields alongside Collingwood 1300 Europeans. He was Māori prospectors who revealed the promise of the West Coast where they showed their gold trader Collingwood. He recognized the coarse gold as different, and after questioning, they led him to the river Arahura.
Maori were less frequent on the fields of Otago. Even so, the Maori point of the Shotover River is named after Daniel and Erihana Hākaraia Haeroa in 1863 to find. When his dog was swept away and Daniel swam after he fell on a bar of gold and stones, so the story goes, the gold dust in the dog's coat. Before nightfall, the two men had recovered 300 ounces (8.5 kg) of coarse gold from the rock crevices.
Thrown into the river
Maori traditionally placed no value on gold - pounamu (green) was their precious minerals. In the early 1800s an Otago whaler named Palmer was told by a Maori chief that the gold of the watch-seals of white men could also be found on the beaches of the Clutha River. And around 1852, seeing a sample of Tasmanian gold, another Maori said he had once picked up a nugget of potato-sized banks of the Clutha, and thrown into the water.

On the Coromandel Peninsula, Maori have resisted attempts to open their land to mining gold in the 1860s, but few could stand between the Europeans and gold. In 1935, the Ngāti Hori Waten Tamatea tribe, testifying before a commission of inquiry into the Goldfield Ohinemuri, described gold as a curse, as it had strengthened the European interest in the land.
Chinese miners
Minors Otago province is encouraging, mainly from Guangdong province in southern China, to come to New Zealand to replace the Europeans who had deserted the fields of Otago in 1866 for the new footage on the West Coast. The Chinese intended to gain wealth for their families and eventually return to China.
Their mining methods were unique - they worked closely on an area and left behind very little gold, while most European miners were more random. The Chinese preferred to previously mined areas as he was known gold there, and they knew that much gold was lost in the dishes.
After finding gold in Otago and Southland, many Chinese miners were attracted to the West Coast. In the workings of the alluvial gold Īnangahua they represented about 40% (715) of the population in 1882, but numbers have declined in the depression of the 1880s. Their celebration of Chinese New Year with fireworks added interest in the gold mines. Superstition kept some Chinese men tunnels. In places like Greenstone Creek, on the west coast, during the construction of water races they cut deep cracks in the cliffs to avoid tunnel.
Their appearance, clothing, language and use of opium all Chinese miners out as different. They lived in their own premises, and some shops belonging supply of their compatriots. A population of about 5,000 in 1881. Prejudice saw a poll tax introduced in 1881 to discourage immigration. Most hoped to earn enough gold to go home, but many died in New Zealand. Some have been exhumed to be buried at home, but the remains of 499 Chinese miners (including Charles Sew Hoy) instead was a sea burial when their vessel sank off the Vennor the Hokianga in 1902.
Film New Zealand, Energy Illustrious (1988), depicts the Chinese gold miners of Central Otago, and their colonies have been restored and rebuilt in places like Arrowtown.

Electronic Gold Detectors

Selecting a suitable metal detector can be a very difficult task and you could make a costly mistake. Find metal detectors for the purchase is easy, but finding information that is useful is not so easy.

Most magazines are full of exploration ads touting the company manufactures the metal detector and you'll be rich if you just get this model. How true are their claims? Is a specific model to help you find more treasure?

The truth of the matter is that luck plays a big role in the treasure hunt. Regardless of the metal detector you have, if you are not the right place at the right time, you will not find anything.

However, having the right equipment and knowledge can help you in the right place more often.

What do you look for?

This is a very important question to ask. What you normally do, and what kind of gold is in your area? Have you been to find nuggets in a particular area or you are simply looking for an extra edge while panning?

If you are a casual prospector, then you can not even need a detector. If you decide that it can be fun, then a model that can also be used to find coins on the beach can be a better choice for you.

If you were to find nuggets, then you want to get a gold detector specific, as it will be fine for your application, finding nuggets.

Another thing to keep in mind is the field that you normally search in. If you are planning a serious hiking, you may want a body mounted sensor, so that your hands are free. If you work streams, then you want a tight coil and detector. If the soil is dense and highly mineralized, you may need a detector with better filtering capabilities of a standard model.

Do your homework first

Technology is constantly evolving, and even the most advanced detectors of a few years ago are virtually obsolete today. It is important to know which models are truly new and improved, and which are just repackaging of outdated designs.

Updating old designs is often accomplished by adding microprocessors or LCD screens. This can make a detector more pleasant to use, but adds little or nothing to their real capacity.

People are often inclined to be loyal to a particular brand. However, this can be a serious mistake if a superior performance with a better warranty may be obtained elsewhere.

Change in technology can quickly overcome the experience, do not assume you know everything. Do your homework. Knowledge is the best substitute for experience.

How does a switch work?

Metal detectors indicate the presence of metal. A metal detector works by creating a magnetic field that is used to load the zone below its coil. As the field moves in front of an underground object, it reacts to the magnetic field through the creation of his own domain. The sensor detects the tiny fields and tells the operator that there is something metal and what type of metal, it can be.

There are two types of common sensors.

Very low frequency (VLF) models are the most common and work very well. A nice feature is that they often have very good discriminator circuits. This keeps the detector can find pop tabs, when you are looking for parts.

Soil type is desired limits VLF detector efficiency. If there is mineralization, such as salt, the scope of the detector will be reduced.

Pulse Induction (PI) function to send a strong push into the ground and measuring the time it takes for the field to rot. If it takes more than a few milliseconds, then there is something metal in the box below. Different metals retain the pulse field longer, allowing the detector to determine the type of material that was found.

PI detectors have much more depth and work better in soil that is mineralized as VLF models, but they do not discriminate as well.

How to Buy a metal detector

As much research as you can on as many detectors as possible.

Know your area and what you find.

Know the limits of your favorite detector.

Go to store rental and a detector for a day. Its research capacity and then take it for a ride as you would normally. Its capacity, weight and comfort may surprise you.

Unit Name cheaper, more expensive, or brand can not be the best deal. Take time to compare the abilities.

How To Plan Your First Gold Panning Trip

The time has finally come. You are about to go out on your adventure into gold first. What will you find? Are you ready for the trip?

Planning a trip to gold mining is very similar to planning for hiking. I will assume that you are planning a day trip.

The key to any successful trip is ready for anything, without being burdened with gear. I like to break planning a trip to three categories: gold mining, safety and comfort. The following show you what I recommend that you bring and why.

Gold Panning Equipment

A pot of gold and a piece of back or new. I always have my trusty slant in my bag, I know. Before trying a new dish, I often use my skillet first standard, so I know what I can expect to find.

Toys to play in the dirt include a shovel, a scoop and a large screen. I call these toys to play in the dirt as a kid because that's what I used and because I originally used to screen sandbox for my daughter for gold panning. She was not too happy about it when she thought of her.

A lever. I was lucky enough to find a lever with a handful of departure is the perfect length to double as a walking stick. This is very useful when crossing streams and climbing steep hills. Whenever possible, try to find things that serve a dual purpose.

A bottle or bottle to collect gold snifter you find. As tweezers and a magnifying glass may help. Hopefully you will not need glass to see your gold. However, it is often useful to look closely at the soil, minerals or conclusions.

Specialized tools. Depending on where I venture I often add an additional device such as a device crevicing. Crevicing device sucks up submerged material from cracks in rocks in the stream. Many people like having a periscope that can be as simple as a tube with a plastic wrap on the bottom of things. This allows you to see what is on the bottom of the stream, and if you're lucky see a small yellow glow.

Safety Equipment

Make and use a hand sanitizer.

Have several sizes of bandages. Usually the worst that you can get is a knuckle disposed of, but better be safe than sorry.

Know something about first aid. You will walk on slippery rocks and other hazards. It benefits you know how to treat a twisted ankle or broken.

Snake bite kit. A friend almost stepped on a rattlesnake while we, where the pan. Fortunately, he was young and did not strike.

A bell attached to your belt. This alert bears and other animals to your presence.

Basic survival equipment. Every time you venture into the woods, you should have the basics to survive at least one night. Band-AIDS, chocolate, water tablets, painkillers, lighter and fishing hooks and line are a good start. There are many sardines can first aid kits available.

Make sure someone knows where you are going and when you return.

Comfort Stuff

Sunscreen and a hat. Heat stroke can be deadly and sunburn is not fun. Take a moment to protect yourself.

High-energy snacks. The first few times I went gold panning I was very surprised to see how the work was for the muscles that I did not used to using. Having snacks like trail mix really help to avoid collapse.

Water. Beer and other alcoholic beverages are relaxing, but they dehydrate you. You must ensure you drink water on a regular basis, especially if it is hot. Otherwise, you can become dehydrated. My golden rule is a small bottle of water every hour and if it's a hot day, I also jump into the water after drinking.

A small chair can save you a lot back pain. Gold Panning involves a lot of squatting and kneeling. A small light chair, especially if you know you'll be in the same place for a while, can really make things much more comfortable.

Good shoes or maybe sandals. You'll be splashing in a river often and do some climbing. Hiking shoes are great. Other people prefer rain boots. But my preference is Teva sandals - durable and comfortable with good grip for walking on wet rocks and possibly viscous.

Shopping List For Panning Gold

Your shopping list for supplies of gold panning base should be roughly as follows:

  • A gold pan of good quality.
  • A vial or snifter bottle.
  • A small shovel.
  • A bucket and classifier that fits it.
  • A solid scoop.
  • A pry bar.
  • Tweezers.
  • Beverages, snacks, bug spray, sun screen and toilet paper.

When shopping for a pan you may find yourself surprised by the variety in pots of gold. You want a plastic pot because they are lighter and easier to use than a metal mold. Your stove should be green and have very pronounced ridges molded into the sides.

The two most common forms for pots of gold are round and square. Common for gold panning and start, you want a round mold. Cutting a square pan with gravel very quickly which makes it ideal for surveying, but it is more difficult to learn to use and does not separate the black sand and gravel, gold and a round pan made of . Take a square pan after starting to find gold with a round pan.

A vial for holding gold is a common thing, but I found a bottle snifter to be much better. The bottles are best for storage and presentation of the gold at home in the area. They break easily (especially when frozen), can leak make you lose your conclusions, and are easy to lose.

Snifter bottle has a small tube that extends into the bottom of the bottle and an inner lid so that nothing comes out until you're ready. The bottle is plastic, so it will not break, is larger making it harder to lose or give up and works really well.

The next most useful thing to have a classifier or sieve, that will save you a lot of work. To use, simply place the display in the bottom of your pan, add dirt and water from your pan and shake the classifier. As the soil is wet, all the gold will go to the bottom of your pan, leaving only large rocks being thrown.

If you want a little more serious on the pan, you want a bar shovel, bucket and lever with you. The classifier must keep on top of your bucket. Now you can filter your documents as you fill your bucket, thereby saving time while panning the material.

Since gold is so dense, he moved often under rocks, hence the need for a lever. Many people have moved a rock in a stream to find a gold ring around its base. I managed to find a lever that has a T-handle bar, so it doubles as a walking stick, very useful when crossing streams.

The small ball is something that can easily be overlooked. You'll quickly discover it is almost impossible to pick up dirt from a creek with a shovel. Very solid with a spoon, you can achieve and maintain the equipment you wanted to pan. Look for something the size of a coffee cup, but is very thick plastic or metal, as it will take a beating. Some surplus stores army thick plastic cup / bowl articles. It has a tiny handful pointed toe and a deep bowl, the perfect tool to scoop up material.

These basic tools work for you no matter where you are panning and terrain. After releasing a few times, you may find that some things work a little better for you or your area. The best way to learn is to go there, have fun experimenting, and talking to people you meet on site or at your local store prospecting.

Prospecting for Other Minerals

There are Many Other deposits of minerals, metals and semi-precious stones in Australia. Some of These are in demand Commercially Such as lead, zinc, copper, platinum. To prospect for thesis, the basic methods Sami Such as research, geology and Can Be Used Known locations, purpose commodity EACH HAS Its Own signature. Study thesis signatures and then search for Them and You Could Be Valuable selling ground to mining companies.

Prospecting Tips

  • Contact state government departments regarding the types of permits you need for the type of prospecting you wish to do. They are very knowledgeable and really understand the difficulties faced by beginners.

  • Always ensure you have permission to access the area you wish to prospect. Contact pastoral leaseholders prior to entering the area.

  • Don’t be afraid to ask mining companies about access to their mining and prospecting areas. They are generally receptive to requests in exchange for the knowledge of your discoveries, particularly on their Exploration Licences.

  • If confronted by others asking you to leave the area, you have the right to politely ask for identification and evidence of their authority. It would be worth taking note of the details.

  • When using a metal detector, always dig every target. What sounds like a tin can has often been a decent nugget.

  • After digging out a nugget, always backfill your hole.

  • Don’t expect to find a fortune on your first day, because you won’t.

  • Enjoy the exercise and have fun!
